When you add or remove guests from a booking that uses resources, resources are added or removed automatically to match. For example, if you added five guests to a booking and that inventory option required each guest be assigned a lifejacket, five lifejackets would be assigned to the booking as well.
You can disable this when you’re adding or removing guests by unchecking “Assign new resources” or “Remove assigned resources.”
You can also disable this behavior in your system settings. First, go to Settings > System Configuration.
There are two settings that control this behavior:
Automatic Resource Adding:
- “Enable adding resources by default when PAX are added to a booking” is the default behavior. The checkbox for automatically assigning additional resources will be checked by default when you add PAX to a booking.
- “Disable adding resources by default when PAX are added to a booking” leaves that checkbox unchecked, so resources won’t be added automatically. You can still check the box to add them, however.
- “Do not allow resources to be added when PAX are added to a booking” removes the checkbox entirely. Resources won’t be automatically adjusted when PAX are added.
Automatic Resource Removal:
- “Enable removing resources by default when PAX are removed from a booking” is the default behavior. The checkbox for automatically removing additional resources will be checked by default when you remove PAX from a booking.
- “Disable removing resources by default when PAX are removed from a booking” leaves that checkbox unchecked, so resources won’t be removed automatically. You can still check the box to remove them, however.
- “Do not allow resources to be removed when PAX are removed from a booking” removes the checkbox entirely. Resources won’t be automatically adjusted when PAX are removed.
Be sure to set both settings to the behavior you want.
Please note that when resources are added automatically, only available resources will be added. If you add more PAX than you have available resources for, the system will show you a warning message and you’ll need to make manual adjustments.
